Quick update before I make dinner...
Kai was thinking about going out last Sat - lovely weather again - but woke up feeling too rough (he has a particularly nasty cold at the moment, on its way out now but the weekend was ropey...) so Ken and I went to Pets@Home for crickets for Rosa (they were out), then to Hurrans for a couple of bird feeders (I had a money off voucher) and coffee and cakes (well, luxury hot choc for me, skooshy cream, marshmallows and a dusting of cocoa, wonderful!), then came back via Benson's for Beds - I'm absolutely sick and tired of being woken up by the pain in my back, neck and shoulders and wanted to ask for advice.
We spoke to Spencer (hat tip as he was extremely helpful, and very funny!) I tried several options before he brought out one of these...
I tried it. And was immediately - I'm having one of these!!
Right away it felt like everything was aligned along my spine. It's deep enough that my lower shoulder isn't scrunched up, and despite being solidly firm (it's really heavy!) it felt like my head was resting on a cloud. No IDEA how it works, but it's absolutely fantastic. They call it Bliss, and it is. I can't remember the last time I slept so well.
I winced at the price, but thinking about it, I usually have to buy new pillows every three months or so, and I don't buy cheap ones any more, so in the long term (it has a two year guarantee) I'll be saving money.
And waking up happy each morning! Gotta be a big plus.
To match it, and see if I can sort out the niggling pain in my lower back, I also ordered one of these, as using normal pillows, as ordered by my physio, isn't working. It arrived this morning, will try it tonight and see how we go.
In other news... More tidying. More recycling. Another bookcase in Ken's room emptied, which means we can much more easily get to the cupboard where our overflow clothes are stored. Seedlings potted on, and new ones started - and I've finally got the bonsai attempts into their proper little pots. The garden is full of birds - we have jays, our magpies are back, and a couple of days ago we had a crow catch a frog in Roeg's Pool... was rather unnerving to watch. It let the frog go twice and re-caught it as it hopped off, then flew away with it.
Lutra and I are currently editing Dystopia: going to see if we can place it with a publisher.
Right - sea bream, creamed spuds, broccoli and peas for dinner. Off to fry!

How hot does your pillow seem to get? It claims to be temperature regulating but the reviews on the site aren't very encouraging in that respect. Adrian is always buying different pillows in the hope of finding the holy grail... :)
I read those too, but honestly, I don't have any problem with it - so far, and we still have the heating on, and I'm getting hot enough to throw off the downie. With the old pillows I was waking up with my neck (and the pillows) damp: not with the new one. It may get hot in the summer, I guess... Will have to wait and see. I didn't buy it for the temperature thing though. I can put up with that as long as it stops the pain!
