Review emailed, wordage target (finally) achieved and exceeded, now I aim to do something more fun...
Nice series of events earlier this evening. I spotted
Hyperdrive on Digiguide's BBC2 listings - only it was the second episode, and we found our PIN didn't work to operate TeleWest's Teleport system (no, sorry Lutra, it's not a cheap transporter, it's a way of watching programmes they've already shown) so Ken rang to find out what the problem was. No problem, we just needed a new PIN. Typed in new PIN and watched the first episode.
Oh dear.
But we watched the second, just to be sure. Doubly oh dear. No, it wasn't gross, or crude, or tasteless (mostly) - it was just dull. Such a pity.
Afterwards I came back to the computer, while Ken kind of slumped, watching Newsnight - at which my ears pricked up. "That's Muse!" says I, of the very quiet background music. "It is?" he replied from the sofa. Of course, I then had to place the track: it wasn't on
Absolution, so I went back to Muse's
multimedia site, being fairly sure I'd remember which it was on sight (which I did, it's the first couple of bars from
New Born. I'm not going to say I love the track, just assume that I've never heard a Muse song I don't like...). That spurred me to check Amazon.co.uk - where to my absolute delight I
now find an import EP CD listed, with four different
Sing for Absolution versions on it, US remix, Making of the video,
and a DVD audio and DVD multimedia track! Surely one of those
MUST be a DVD of that fabulous video, surely? It's now top of my birthday list...
So, after that discovery, I went back to the site to play a couple of the RealPlayer tracks I hadn't yet listened to - and found
Feeling Good. Turns out it's only Muse's version of that song I first heard and fell in love with on the bloody Nesc*** advert! [spit spit Nessh*t]. You know -
"It's a new dawn,
It's a new day,
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good..."
[grin] It's a cracking version too. And it's on the
Origin of Symmetry CD - along with
New Born and
Bliss. (That's on the list as well now.)
That all made up for a fairly humdrum day. Happy now. Can get something creative done!
