So, knowing I would be groggy this morning, I left a note for Ken saying to wake me when the 'flashy thing' (the ICQ postit that flashes in the system tray when you get a message) started doing its flashy thing...
Two attempts later I'm 'awake' (in some other dimension, certainly not this one) trying to make my fingers work so I can make sense to Lutra. Ken asks if I'd like toast. "No," I say, "but I'd kill for a fried egg and ham sandwich with lots of English mustard." ('Kill' being a relative term, here, as I'm probably not capable of even a bit of maiming this morning...)
Twenty minutes later I'm handed a truly delicious sandwich. Half way through, Ken says - "Oh, did you know you had a parcel?"
Given that it's still sitting on my settee unopened, it's a fair guess that no, I didn't. Kai brings it through to me at the desk...
WAIIII!! It's from Lutra!
[chokes on mouthful of sandwich] [rip rend and tear] [picks bits of polystyrene packaging out of sandwich] [big beaming grin]
Pirates of the Caribbean and
2002 DVDs, a
Xena video (no, I can't stand Xena, but this has the
For Him the Bell Tolls episode starring Craig Parker. You know, Haldir in
LotR....), a
Kaioshin action figure, a Radittsu action figure (this one with the mane blowing - and an unwindable tail! [looking more closely] Actually, this one is beautifully detailed, and more poseable than the other... and smirking. Hm. Kaioshin is scowling. Lutra had bubble-wrapped them face to face... well, face to waist, given the relative sizes... There's a lemony fic in there somewhere...), a
gorgeous handmade card with 3D sushi and a pair of chopsticks on the front, 4 postcards - a drop bear (ROFL!), the Penguin Parade, Gariwerd National Park, and an Aboriginal painting of a Bunya Pine - and an evil squid. Yes, really. It's sitting in front of my magnificent octopus at the moment, glowering at me out of evil yellow eyes. Alas, it's too small to take a decent photo with Kai's digicam, and it's the wrong shape to scan, so maybe next time Carol visits...? [beg] It's great!
And last but absolutely not least, there was the most beautiful Tarot pack, based on CLAMP's
RG Veda manga.
Gorgeous artwork, just gorgeous. Going to be interesting working out which card is which: Major Arcana is no problem, as the cards are numbered, but the Minor Arcana cards are all in Japanese... [frown] or possibly Chinese, I can't see any hiragana amongst the kanji... Eh well, Tarot transcends language anyway, and repays study.
[GLOMPS Lutra] Thank you thank you thank you!
Going to let Lutra have the last word before I go back to bed for a little more sleep (so I can be awake enough to take Kai to St Luke's this evening).
