My haddock's been escaping again...
The 'exorcism' filming went well, Ken tells me. As well as the exorcist there were two observers -
Julie Fernandez and
Matt Allwright as the cynic: he's one of my favourite TV presenters (he was great in
Rogue Traders). It's supposed to be shown during one ep of the (cringe)
Heaven and Hell show on a Sunday morning on BBC1, sometime in the near future. Nowt to do with me, I hasten to add...
The folks visited today (just for the day): a fun time was had by all. And they like my decorating.
X-Rated: The Pop Videos They Tried To Ban on Channel 4 has just finished, and Ken actually stayed up to watch it with me. Well, he was in the lounge and I was at the computer watching over my shoulder, but you know what I mean...
Fascinating stuff. We missed the beginning of it, unfortunately, but they tried to cover everything, starting with the relatively innocuous -
Duran Duran's
Girls on Film and
Madonna's... well, most things - and getting more and more extreme as the programme progressed. Ken, puir innocent lamb that he is, was thoroughly bemused by it all:
Frankie Goes to Hollywood's
Relax (the original gay club version, not the sanitised one),
NIN (didn't catch the name of the track, it's the sado-masochistic one with the torture chair),
Marilyn Manson (
Coma White),
Aphex Twins (
Come To Daddy - I was impressed...),
The Prodigy (
Smack My Bitch Up, which had me staring bemused at the TV until the last shot, when I laughed aloud. Never liked
The Prodigy but that was rather good...), ending up with the lesbian orgy of
Rock Bitch, via the rather tedious porn of hip-hop. Not a great deal of an eye-opener for me, but intriguing stuff all the same.
Ooh! Thunder! There's something I haven't heard in a while... Explains why my skin is prickling though.
Lie in and a quiet day tomorrow. I need a rest.
